• {{SERVER}} gives http://www.wikia.com - the URL of the central Wikia, except when substituting the shared template, in which case it is the URL of the local Wikia.
• an internal link a shows up in the style of an internal link, but links to the central Wikia, except when substituting the shared template, in which case the link is an internal link to a local page.
• the link wikia:A shows up in the style of an internal link, but links to a page in the Wikia namespace of the central Wikia, except when substituting the shared template, in which case it is an interwiki link to a page in the main namespace of the central Wikia.
• peize:a links to page "a" on the peize Wikia and shows up in the style of an interwiki link, even on the peize Wikia itself; when substituting the shared template on the peize Wikia, it is an internal link to a page in the peize namespace.
• To make links independent of the project where a shared template is called, and independent of the choice between inclusion and substitution, use external link style.
